CONTENT The aim of the course is to build on the language skills already learnt to become more confident and competent with the Spanish language. This course aims to enable students to use Spanish effectively for the purpose of practical communication. It forms a sound foundation for the skills, language and attitudes required for further study, work and leisure. It offers insights into the culture and civilisation of the countries where Spanish is spoken.
BENEFITS Around 500 million people in the world speak Spanish. It is the second most used language in international communication and the second language spoken in the United States. Analysis of Inter-European trade have cited language and cultural barriers as the main block to trade. Spanish is considered as one of the most needed of such languages - it would certainly give access to the 21 Latin American countries, many of which are experiencing strong economic growth. There are also many job opportunities for Spanish speaking British people in the tourist industry and property markets in Spain. As a result of its growing importance, the demand for Spanish courses worldwide has doubled in ten years.
