QUALIFICATION GCSE Music
CONTENT There are four areas of study covering music from 1700s to the present day. The coursework is split into two parts:
Composing - Students compose two pieces, each taken from a different area of study, this is worth 30% of the total mark.
Performing - Students do three performances, one a solo performance, one a composition and the other can be anything the student chooses. This performance is worth 30%.
At the end of the course there is a Listening and Appraising test worth 40%.
